Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using The Spice Shelf website or placing an order. By accessing our website, creating an account, or making a purchase, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
The Spice Shelf is a monthly cultural spice subscription service. We sell individual spice boxes and subscription plans through our website at thespiceshelf.com. Our contact email is hello@thespiceshelf.com.
By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that all information you provide is accurate and complete. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including if we suspect fraudulent activity.
All prices are listed in US dollars and are subject to change without notice. The price displayed at the time you complete your purchase is the price you will be charged. We are not responsible for typographical errors in pricing and reserve the right to cancel orders placed at an incorrect price.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We accept all major credit and debit cards. By providing payment information you authorise us to charge the applicable amount for your order. For subscription plans, you authorise recurring charges on your chosen billing cycle until you cancel.
Applicable sales tax will be calculated and added to your order total at checkout based on your shipping address.
Subscription plans are billed automatically on your chosen cycle (monthly, every 2 months, every 3 months, every 6 months, or annually). Your payment method will be charged on the same date each cycle. You will receive an email notification before each renewal.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard with no cancellation fees. To avoid being charged for the next billing cycle, you must cancel at least 5 days before your next billing date. Cancellations made after that date will take effect on the following billing cycle. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods.
Monthly subscribers may skip a delivery by logging into their account and selecting "Skip this month" at least 5 days before their billing date.
You may upgrade or downgrade your subscription plan at any time. Changes take effect on your next billing cycle.
Our 2-Month and 3-Month plans are one-time upfront payments, not recurring subscriptions. You will receive the number of boxes specified in your plan, after which delivery ends automatically. No cancellation is needed.
You are responsible for providing an accurate and complete shipping address. We are not liable for orders delivered to an incorrect address provided by the customer. Address changes must be made at least 5 days before your next scheduled ship date.
Subscription boxes ship on a monthly schedule. One-time orders ship within 2 to 3 business days. We are not responsible for delays caused by carriers, weather, or other circumstances outside our control. Estimated delivery times are not guaranteed.
We currently ship within the contiguous United States only. We do not ship to PO Boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or internationally at this time.
If your box arrives damaged or does not arrive within 14 days of your expected delivery date, please contact us at hello@thespiceshelf.com. We will work with you to resolve the issue, which may include a replacement box or store credit at our discretion.
Due to the perishable nature of spice products, we do not accept returns. If you are dissatisfied with your order for any reason, please contact us within 14 days of delivery and we will do our best to make it right, which may include a replacement, store credit, or refund at our discretion.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method and may take 5 to 10 business days to appear on your statement. We do not offer refunds for orders that have already shipped unless the product is defective or the wrong item was sent.
We do not offer refunds for subscription charges that have already been processed and for which the box has been prepared or shipped. If you cancel your subscription before the billing date, no further charges will be made.
We make every effort to ensure that product descriptions, spice blends, and recipe cards are accurate. However, we reserve the right to modify box contents, themes, and recipes without notice. Spice blends are prepared in a facility that handles common allergens. If you have severe food allergies, please contact us before ordering.
Gift subscriptions are non-refundable once redeemed. The gift recipient is responsible for managing their subscription after redemption, including cancellation. Gift subscriptions expire 24 months from the date of purchase if not redeemed.
All content on this website, including text, images, logos, recipes, and cultural content, is the property of The Spice Shelf or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable copyright laws. Our website and products are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Spice Shelf shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our website or products. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your purchase shall not exceed the amount you paid for the order in question.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Spice Shelf and its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms of Service or your use of our website.
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which The Spice Shelf is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction in that state.
